We are Hot!

This is Dog and Everett. Rob used to work with them when he was working for PP&W. We were just waiting for the cable guy to come when they showed up to hook us up.

We are live with power. So cool. They installed the meter and it is the only time you will see this. I have never seen that before. I don't know why it strikes me so, but it does.

We are so excited. The siding goes on ,and on and on and on. Finally a picture of me hanging it and with a power tool, thanks to Robby.

But we are in the final stages. We will probably be able to finish this weekend. That will be such a burden off of Rob. He is kind of a little overwhelmed at this point with all the work. It has been so much work and he is tired. Happy but tired. And this guy is constantly hanging in the rafters.
He is such a nut. Makes me laugh and cry all at the same time. Jody says it is because we are so much alike. I think he is just a shit but can see some truth in that statement. He has hit the teenage years full speed and is bull headed. With his Dad and me in him he can't be anything but.
This is the official food of Smith Built. Nothing like a little kettle corn to keep you going. We had to add this. So here is where we stand on the house as of today
Not to shabby I say. Thanks to John Giltner for coming and helping this weekend. Lets face it the high stuff is not for me and Rob and John get a lot more accomplished than Rob does with Robby and I. I believe Rob is having the insulators come next week then it is on to drywall. Moving and a grooving folks. I think we just may make the May deadline. Now I have some more serious decisions to make. Or have made and will blog when all is said and done. Chow for now

Sh*tty Blogger

So I was giving my Sister in law a hard time about slow posting. Clearly I win.

So I have been called out. Then I looked at my last post, November???? Wow I am a bad blogger and where did the time go. Partly it has to do with not a lot of "change" going on in the house. At least not that you can see. The other was, lets see, I am in the middle of a serious "dispute" lets say. My son decided to break his hand in three places which required a surgery and three screws to put it back together. I am club director for Jordan's volleyball club.

Then we had Christmas, two birthdays and then trying to take care of Gramps. Oh lets not forget Robby and basketball. Add the house in to it and it is only because I am to crazy busy to become the alcoholic I deserve to be. No time for a hangover. It is the slow time of the house. We have the plumbing roughed in.

The electrical was finished on Tuesday.

If you can't tell I have a love affair with can lighting. it is timeless, easy to clean and the best part .... cheap! I think I may have gone a little crazy, but the electrician, Chad, said you can never have to much light. Easier to turn off than add later if you ask me. It is pretty col. We have our final inspection for framing next week then the insulators come in.

We have been getting our asses handed to us with the siding. THAT is super time consuming and you need at least two people. But I can use the siding nailer and now am a pro and only shoot one nail at a time. I don't think Rob would agree but I was out there with him all weekend. He marked the wall and cut and I hung.  I wanted him to take a pic of me working.  Ya at the end he said he would take one. I was irritated. He doesn't want any proof I actually do help.  Just kidding. So I posed badly.

I love my colors. That was probably the hardest thing for me to pick and the scariest. But I did it. With many a phone call to trusted opinions. I don't know if you can tell but I have a love affair with brown. It is neutral. I may be headed for too neutral but oh well. We had the door guy come today for the interior doors. That was fun. I love picking out the fun stuff. I promise to be better about blogging. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can be a little more settled.
